Shortly after Microsoft’s X019 event, Keighley confirmed two Microsoft games will be getting World Premieres at The Game Awards 2019. First up is Ori and the Will of the Wisps, the sequel to the award-winning Metroidvania game Ori and the Blind Forest. Ori and the Will of the Wisps has been greatly anticipated by fans since the hugely positive reception to the first game, so it will be exciting to see more of it at The Game Awards.

The other game Keighley confirmed for The Game Awards 2019 is Gears Tactics. Gears Tactics is a turn-based strategy game set in the Gears of War franchise. Gears Tactics is coming to PC and Xbox One, though no firm release date for it has been announced at the time of this writing. Maybe we’ll get one come The Game Awards 2019 on December 12.
While it’s safe to say that many fans are excited to get another look at Ori and the Blind Forest, it’s possible that Gears Tactics may be the more exciting game overall. Not much has been seen of Gears Tactics since its E3 2018 announcement, so it will be interesting to see how much the game has progressed since its reveal.
In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if Microsoft has any new game announcements reserved for The Game Awards 2019. Microsoft had some new game reveals for its X019 event, including the Rare-developed Everwild and Obsidian’s Grounded, but it may have been saving a reveal for The Game Awards, which will potentially have more viewers than X019.
Regardless, we know that there will be at least some new game reveals at The Game Awards 2019, so those interested should be sure to tune in.
