Genshin Impact player and Reddit user Igarashi9 was fortunate enough to summon Nahida from “The Moongrass’ Enlightenment” event wish, which is a new summoning event introduced in version 3.2. After obtaining the character and placing Nahida in the active party, Igarashi9 began to roam around Sumeru with her and visit various NPCs in the region. The player noticed that named NPCs would address Nahida with unique voice lines. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the unique voice lines are tied to a skill only accessible to a Dendro Archon.

Genshin Impact’s Nahida is also known as the vessel of Lesser Lord Kusanali, the Dendro Archon of Sumeru. She has special powers tied to the Sumeru region including the ability to read minds. Unique voice lines are a result of Nahida’s Elemental Skill in Genshin Impact, which she’s able to perform in and out of combat. Nahida is the first Genshin Impact character to directly affect NPCs with skills, and players are beginning to wonder if other unique skills will be introduced with future Archon characters.

Nahida’s mind-reading skill appears to be limited to the Sumeru region and its people due to her current Archon powers. For example, users have tried the use Nahida’s skill on NPCs in Liyue Harbor, but the NPCs were unaffected. Additionally, the unique voice lines and mind-reading skill only applies to named Sumeru NPCs such as the kids of Aaru Village.

HoYoverse’s attention to detail for a character such as Nahida is welcoming since her skill directly correlates with Dendro Archon lore. Nahida’s skill is one of a kind and could be a sign that HoYoverse is planning to diversify Elemental Skills even further in the future. Playable characters coming soon to Genshin Impact such as Kaveh and Alhaitham can benefit from changes to their skills.

Nahida is among one of the most popular characters introduced so far, but Wanderer is already shattering Genshin Impact records. Players will be able to summon Wanderer, also known as Scaramouche, in version 3.3 this December.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.
