Genshin Impact’s social media accounts have already confirmed the arrival of three new characters in the first Sumeru update. A brand new Sumeru Preview Teaser has revealed more information about a new major region as well as its characters.

The game’s story has already confirmed that Sumeru is a nation that treasures wisdom. According to a popular character, Yae Miko, knowledge is managed as a resource in the new major region. This is done by a Gnosis-powered legacy left by the previous Sumeru Archon, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. The new video reveals the appearance of six new characters who are expected to join the playable roster in the future. All the characters presented in the video are rumored to have a five-star rarity considering that the already confirmed four-stars, Dori and Collei, were not part of the video. The first playable character shown in the video is named Tighnari, and he will be a part of the upcoming update 3.0.

The video also shows five additional characters: Al-Haitham, Dehya, Nilou, Nahida, and Cyno. Al-Haitham has been leaked numerous times over the last couple of months, and he is expected to be a new Dendro DPS character. There is a lot of excitement around this character as his design seems to be based on a Honkai Impact 3rd character named Su. This won’t be the first time for HoYoverse to take inspiration from their second most popular title when it comes to character design.

Nahida is rumored to be the new Dendro Archon also known as God of Wisdom, but HoYoverse is yet to confirm this information. Even though fans were expecting her to arrive at the second Sumeru update as it would fit the game’s usual pattern of releasing new Archons, leaks have been hinting that she will most likely arrive in Version 3.2.

Multiple replies in the comment section claim that these six characters most likely won’t be the only ones to join the playable roster in the foreseeable future. Multiple leaks have been hinting that the famous sixth Harbinger named Scaramouche, might join the playable roster in update 3.2. His absence from the recently released video named “A Winter Night’s Lazzo” indicates that he might appear in the story sooner than expected.

Genshin Impact is available for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Nintendo Switch version also in development.
