Version 2.0 added the much-anticipated Inazuma region and a variety of new characters back in July 2021. HoYoverse introduced Raiden Shogun and Kamisato Ayato into the event wish pool, generating some of Genshin Impact’s highest revenue yet at the time. One year later, HoYoverse would launch the version 3.0 update in September 2022, which quickly became one of the game’s biggest launches yet with record-breaking engagement across social media. Players would leave the Inazuma region to venture into Sumeru and discover Genshin Impact’s most important secrets in the main story. Interest in Inazuma’s most beloved characters would increase over time while many others would also await the arrival of characters such as the Dendro Archon Nahida and the Fatui Harbinger Scaramouche.

GenshinLab reveals an updated list of iOS revenue by Genshin Impact in the Chinese market, which now includes first week earnings from version 3.3’s Ayato and Raiden Shogun banner reruns. The characters’ combined total is among the highest yet in the game at an astounding $23,484,867. Ayato and Raiden Shogun’s rerun would become the second-highest earning banners of all time behind Nahida and Yoimiya’s banners from Genshin Impact version 3.2. Nahida and Yoimiya generated a combined total of $24,363,487, which is nearly one million dollars more than Ayato and Raiden Shogun’s revenue during version 3.3. Reddit user TimocaSamJa shared the impressive revenue stats with the Genshin Impact community, causing many to speculate future banner reruns due to the immensely high earnings generated by the Inazuman fan-favorites.
Raiden Shogun is among the top highest-grossing characters in Genshin Impact along with the likes of Nahida, Xiao, and Yoimiya. Scaramouche became playable in version 3.3 as the Wanderer, and he generated nearly $19 million alongside the comical Inazuma gang leader, Arataki Itto. Revenue is on a steep rise in China following the recent Sumeru updates, and the income is expected to grow even further with more reruns.
Genshin Impact’s Raiden Shogun is a powerful ally that players could build a potent team around, so the desire for her appears to be well warranted. Additionally, the opportunity to summon Ayato long after his initial debut may have helped to generate a modest amount of revenue on his own.
Alhaitham and Xiao will headline Genshin Impact version 3.4 in the update’s first two banners this month. The Akademiya scribe is one of the most anticipated Dendro characters, so his arrival is expected to be another historic moneymaker for HoYoverse.
Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is currently in development.
