Alhaitham won’t be the only new Genshin Impact character to appear on the upcoming banner as HoYoverse revealed that another Dendro user named Yaoyao will be placed on the same banner cycle. This means that in order to acquire both characters, players need to spend their Primogems on the same Limited Character Banner.

Genshin Impact’s official YouTube channel has revealed the first character teaser for the upcoming five-star character Alhaitham. He is a respectful Akademiya scholar who played a vital role in the recent Archon Quest. According to the recent live stream, Alhaitham will be the second DPS character to use the Dendro element after Tighnari who arrived as part of update 3.0. After HoYoverse revealed his skills, many fans gave him the nickname “Dendro Keqing” since he shares a very similar set of combat animations as the Electro user.
However, while Keqing and Alhaitham might share a similar design, their playstyle is much more different. Alhaitham’s DPS potential revolves around having Chisel-Light Mirror stacks which have several different effects that include dealing AoE Dendro damage to nearby opponents and infusing his Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks with the Dendro element. His Elemental Skill, An Elaboration On Form, allows Alhaitham to rush forward, deal Dendro damage and create a Chisel-Light Mirror.
Alhaitham’s Elemental Burst is called Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena, and it allows him to deal multiple instances of AoE damage in a large area. The damage of this burst will get significantly increased if there are Chisel-Light Mirrors present on the field. Players who want to add this Dendro user to the roster should try to get his signature weapon named Light of Foliar Incision, which will be part of the upcoming weapon banner.
This weapon is very flexible, and it could be a great choice for most DPS characters in Genshin Impact. The sword can be used by one of the currently available limited five-star characters, Kamisato Ayato, who is part of the ongoing double banner that also features the Electro Archon Raiden Shogun. When it comes to building the right party for the new Dendro DPS, previous leaks have revealed that Alhaitham could be a great fit for the Spread team comp.
Genshin Impact is available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5 with a Switch version also in development.
