Recent patches have seen whole slews of new enemies added as Genshin Impact has consistently expanded the Inazuma region since its highly-anticipated release in July. Alongside new variants of the Treasure Hoarders and Hilichurls, Inazuma has introduced wandering samurai, new Fatui enemies, and more to the RPG. The recently-added Enkanomiya also added several new variants of pre-existing enemies with Bathysmal Vishaps and new elemental Specters. Now, a recent leak from Genshin’s closed beta testing shows off an enemy set to arrive alongside the upcoming Chasm region.

A video shared by prominent Genshin leaker Yukikami shows off the Black Serpent Knight, an imposing fully-armored figure set to challenge players within the Chasm following its long-awaited introduction in Version 2.6. The leak shows the Black Serpent Knight wielding a chain-whip sword to attack in a wide area around itself. The Black Serpent Knight’s attack patterns also features the ability to detach the chain links of its sword, spinning the links in front of itself to deal Anemo damage or firing them towards the player as homing shots.
Leaks pertaining to the game’s new enemy are the lastest in a string giving players details about Genshin Impact’s newest region. Previous leaks have revealed the map for the Chasm, a new character joining the game in Kamisato Ayato, supposed re-runs for popular characters like Venti and Ayaka, and even speculation that the Chasm will serve as a connecting point between Liyue and the next major nation set to join the game, Sumeru. Sumeru’s addition to Genshin will also likely come with the first new element added to the game since its release, the nature-based Dendro.
As Genshin Impact looks ahead to the introduction of its newest region in the Chasm, the game has consistently been adding more areas for players to explore in the world of Teyvat since Inazuma’s release last July. Subsequent patches saw the addition of the islands of Watatsumi and Seirai, the mysterious Tsurumi Island, and even an entire haunting subterranean region in Enkanomiya. Genshin fans have speculated about details surrounding the Chasm since the game’s release, being mentioned during several quests in Liyue, and players won’t have to wait too much longer to finally explore the region.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
